I'm a scientist, inventor, and entrepreneur driven by a simple belief: aging is modifiable. I create and develop new ways to make aging measurable and actionable. My discoveries include novel longevity biomarkers, clocks for inflammaging, organ-specific aging trajectories, intrinsic capacity, and mortality risk. I introduced the idea that the immune system functions as a sensory interface through which life's exposures shape how we age, and I use AI and systems biology to turn those signals into tools that can help people live healthier, longer lives.

As Professor and Head of the AI and Bioinformatics Core at the Buck Institute for Research on Aging, Director of the Stanford 1000 Immunomes Project at Stanford School of Medicine, and founder of three Silicon Valley companies, my mission is to use science, innovation, and creativity to expand healthy time, reduce suffering, and help create a better world.

Outside the lab, I'm a father of three, wildly in love with my partner—who is also my best friend—a lifelong surfer, and an amateur chef who takes cooking almost as seriously as science. I've always believed some of the best ideas come from crossing worlds: in the ocean, around a fire with friends, over music and food, or in moments of wonder. I try to live at that intersection of rigor and play, discovery and beauty, science and art.
